It’s as simple as this; I have cut 98% of carbohydrates from my diet.
I no longer eat ANY bread, flour, pasta, rice, starch, sugar, fruits and only a few vegetables.
It’s basically Phase 1 Atkins for an extended period of time!
Eggs, fish, beef, pork, chicken, turkey, some cheeses. After the first 2 weeks I added in some vegetables
Food List:
I do not eat anything that has higher than 1 gram of carbs per serving. I read a lot of labels and I carry a carb counter with me at all times.
I’m pretty used to it now, and I can carry on with my eyes closed. My cravings for sugar and carbs have all but stopped. If I have a craving I know what I can have. I was allowing my self to cheat every 2 weeks, but that’s a cop out. This is working for me; to let myself cheat is stupid! I don’t need to cheat, I can live with this!

My body no longer burns carbs for energy, It burns fat!
This is called Ketosis
The weight is coming off in places that I never expected. My face, (the evidence are the pictures)
My back, my fingers, my legs, my ankles were always swollen, not anymore! I went down a shoe size. (I’m not kidding) as well as 2 sizes in clothes. I can now wear my favorite jeans that I have not gotten by big A*# into for 2 years!
I still have a photo-phobia, I will try to get over it, and post full-length photos, not just my head shots.
I just never saw myself as so fat! The pictures show me as just that, so I stopped people from taking my picture. For me to show any picture of myself is a breakthrough!
This takes a little extra preparation, but it’s well worth it. You don’t starve yourself at all. You are never hungry; the only starving is that you are starving your body of carbs.
I count calories to keep me in check, but if your good at portion control you don’t have to. (I’m not)
I took into consideration the lack of fruits and vegetables and I take 2 multi-vitamins each day
I use Benefiber unflavored crystals (1 net carb) and
I use Nature’s Secret Super Cleanse 3 days a week
I feel great, I have tons of energy, I have passed the need to stop for take-out, or order out with everyone at work. My little fridge at work suits me fine!
I drive past fast food places everyday without blinking, or thinking.
I can now stick to my plan, and not sacrifice fun with my family and friends.
When I have slipped and had a lot of carbs I feel terrible, lethargic, bloated and FAT!
No turning back for me!
The only thing I miss is CRUNCHY STUFF!
Big Deal! I’ll burn something and eat it if I want something crunchy that bad!
(my friend just gave me a recipe for Parmesan chips ) no carbs!
Oh and bad breath. Thank goodness for Listerine strips!
This is not for everybody, my body responds well to this. It responded poorly to carbs and I never realized it.
I never realized carbs were doing the same thing to me that sugar was!
For me, it was not about calories and that’s what I have been consumed with all my life. It’s all about Sugar!
